Dr. Zhong has twenty years of pharmaceutical industry experience in both small molecule and antibody drug discovery, and research in oncology, fibrosis, and inflammation. Prior to joining Bright Bio, Dr. Zhong was a Senior Scientist at Gilead Sciences, where she advanced and supported multiple research projects to the IND-ready stage or clinical stage as the biology leader or core team member. Dr. Zhong started her career as a research scientist at CV Therapeutics, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in target validation, drug discovery, MOA research and translational research. She advanced a drug candidate into pre-clinical development and then to clinical phase 1 trial for inflammation/fibrosis as the leading research scientist. Dr. Zhong has published over twenty peer-reviewed articles and is an inventor of several granted patents.

Dr. Zhong holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from MD Anderson Cancer Center/UT Health GSBS, where she graduated as a President's Scholar, the most distinguished award at MDACC/UT Health GSBS.
